England – Pimm’s Cup

Pimm’s is a spicy, sweet gin-based British liquor.   It is the popular choice in the UK and has started to become popular in the US.

It was created in the mid-late 1800s by the English oyster bar owner James Pimm. The Pimm’s Cup was originally a tonic created to help with digestion due to its secret ingredients of different liqueurs and herbs. It was later re-branded into the beverage that it is known for today.

Pimm’s Cup cocktail tastes like a milder version of ginger beer with hints of citruses and spices.  Perfect for the Fall colder nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces Pimm’s No. 1

  • 3 ounces ginger ale lemon soda or lemonade

  • long thin slice of cucumber

  • 1-2 thin orange slices

  • 1-2 mint leaves
  • Ice

Steps

  1. In a shaker,

    • In a  shaker, add ice, Pimm’s and the ginger ale. Shake until chilled and then strain over a full glass of ice.
    • Garnish with cucumber and orange slices.
    • Add the mint leaf.
